13 Things You Realise When You Are In A Mature Relationship

They say time heals. They also say it changes us in many ways. Sometimes, even to the extent where we may never recognise ourselves. But that's not it, is it? In the same way we change, so do our relationships with our partner. From the butterflies in your tummy when they walk by to a time where you learn, compromise and accept them, even if they make you want to pull your hair out, your relationship has evolved to a mature one and you take things a lot more seriously. If you're in this phase of your relationship, you'll identify with these :)

1. How your partner dresses up and looks has become the least of your concern

There may have been many physical attributes to your partner you were attracted to when you first started dating. However, over time, appearances change – maybe the growth of an extra bulge on your love handle, a pot belly that never existed, a receding hair line that’s become a lot more evident or the enormous amount of body hair that you haven’t waxed in months. It really doesn’t matter much to you or your partner now and you tend to concentrate on the more important things in life. Besides, it somehow holds testimony to the love and difficulties you have been through together.

2. You understand your families play an important role in the success of your relationship

Your family has been through thick and thin with you, has brought you up to the person you are today and has had a huge place in your heart much before your partner arrived. Your partner has the same story to share as well. You understand to love your partner completely, you must also love and respect their family and be able to get along with them. You make a conscious effort in knowing them and it gives you no better joy, to know that you have succeeded in winning their hearts.
