Amy Archer-Gilligan enjoyed a stable career as the proprietor of a nursing home. She attended to her patients and oversaw their general care–or at least, that was what she was expected to do. Archer-Gilligan was found guilty of some unthinkable acts.

At the end of the day, Amy Archer-Gilligan lusted after the money that would come with life insurance. As a result, she successfully murdered her husband. But she did not stop there. She went to murder several of her patients, all via poisoning. Her kill count is not clear, but it is estimated that she killed at least ten people total, with as many as 50 possible deaths to her name. Originally, she was sentenced to death. However, it was later decided that she be sent to an insane asylum.
