Sweden’s tradition of females being a part in combat has passed on to this date. They are a part of every decision of the military. Sweden has boasted the NATO status since the year 1989 and women have full access to all the army related roles. The women soldiers do a great job in promoting peaceful terms with all nations rather than wars. In Afghanistan, the Swedish army has achieved great success in creating peaceful terms with local people and help stop the violence.
26. North Korea
Out of a total 12 million, armed officers serving in the North Korea, around 40% are women. Each female is required to give seven years of her life to the army, while males serve for twelve years or more.
Korea is a very secretive country, not much is known about the policies of the DPRK forces. North Korean inside army defectors, however, suggest that women soldiers face many difficult situations. They not only face subpar health but also have to go through sexual harassment and assault by their own countrymen.
