Lagaan – from producer to Oscar!
Aamir Khan’s first film as a producer came in the form of Lagaan in 2001. This well-loved film, which contributed to the turning point of Hindi cinema, was also the 3rd film in the history of Bollywood to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.
A prominent social media presence
Aamir Khan was one of the first to connect with his fans via a Twitter account and even wrote a blog in the early 2000s. He has always maintained a social media presence which paved the way for other stars to do the same.
