Baaghi 2 is the sequel to Baaghi, which was a huge commercial success. Baaghi 2 like Baaghi stars Tiger Shroff as the lead. Shraddha Kapoor, who starred opposite Tiger Shroff in the first instalment is no longer a part of the movie. Disha Patani comes in as the new leading lady for the movie. Manoj Bajpai and Randeep Hooda are also a part of the ensemble. The talented Prateik Babbar has been roped in to play the negative role. Baaghi 2, like its prequel would be a martial arts movie and is being directed by Ahmad Khan under the banners of Nadiawala Grandson Entertainment and Fox Star Studios.
Baaghi was a huge success raking in over Rs. 1.1 billion when it was made with a budget of Rs. 350 million. In all fairness, Baaghi is the only movie that Tiger Shroff has starred in and has not bombed at the box office. His debut movie failed at the box office but he managed to win the Filmfare Award for the Best Male Debut for Heropanti. Disha Patani has had a stellar beginning to her Bollywood career as her debut movie MS Dhoni – the Untold Story was a raving success. With no movie hitting the screen in 2017, Patani returns to the big screen with Baaghi 2 in 2018.
Talking about the Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani, the producer Nadiadwala said, “They share an amazing onscreen chemistry, which was evident in their look test. Disha is just perfect for the role. I am happy with my cast and am excited to kick-start the project.” Prateik Babbar showed huge talent in his debut movie, Jaane Tu ya Jaane Na. He has also been getting good reviews for his work in independent movies like Dhobi Ghat and My Friend Pinto. But his battle with substance abuse had been holding him back. He is now back from rehab and substance abuse free for quite a while and would be looking to establish himself in the industry.
7. Drive

Drive is another action move from the stables of Karan Johar’s production house. It is directed by Tarun Mansukhani of the Dostana fame. The movie stars Sushant Singh Rajput as the lead while Jacqueline Fernandez stars opposite him. Vikramjit Virk and Sapna Pabbi have major roles in the movie too. The movie is based on the Hollywood flick of the same name which starred Ryan Gosling and Carey Mulligan. That movie is itself based on a novel. It is about an unnamed stunt driver who moonlights as a getaway driver. He quickly grows fond of his neighbour and her young son. Their budding relationship is interrupted when Irene’s husband is released from prison. The husband owes protection money from his time in prison and is beaten up by a gangster, who demands that the husband rob a pawnshop to pay off the debt. The gangster gives the neighbour’s son a bullet as a symbol that he and his mother are in danger. The Driver, concerned for the safety of the neighbour and her son, offers to act as the getaway driver for the pawnshop robbery.
Sushant Singh Rajput had a quieter 2017 after the success of MS Dhoni: The Untold Story and Detective Byomkesh Bakshi in 2016 and 2015 respectively. His only movie in 2017, Raabta could not do wonders at the box office and was adjudged to be a flop. Jacqueline Fernandez had 2 releases in 2017. Though her first release, A Gentleman opposite Siddharth Malhotra bombed at the box office, her second release Judwaa 2 was a runaway commercial success. She has an interesting movie coming up in 2018 which has been named ‘According to Mathew’. It would be her debut for the Sri Lankan Film industry and would also be her first English language movie.
It is a romance, crime and thriller film based on the crimes of Father Mathew Pieris, Anglican priest of the Church of St Paul the Apostle, Kynsey Road, Colombo, who was convicted of the double murders of his wife ( Eunice Pieris) and Russel Ingram, the husband of his lover in 1979.
